Tech & Learning - free magazine and website with great resources for educators

Posted in Labels: , ,

Tech&Learning is a great resource for educators. It is a print/online magazine, along with a great website. They also produce TechForum educational conferences and Virtual TechForum.

The Tech&Learning magazine, available free to qualified educators, is released monthly and contains articles, tips, resources, product reviews, and much more.

The website has a link to the electronic version of the magazine, the Tech&Learning Advisor blogs, links to resources from past TechForums, and more resources. There are articles on best practices, administration, integrating technology, professional development, free resources, tips and tricks, grant help, and so much more.

The Tech&Learning Advisors are educators who write articles for the TL Blog section of the website, contribute articles to the magazine, and also help review products and present at TechForum. Some of the names may be familiar to you as they are also very active online with Twitter and their own blogs and present extensively at conferences and unconferences around the world.

The staff are friendly and helpful, the TechForum conferences are great, fun, and informative, and the site and magazine have incredible information and resources.

Tech&Learning also maintains a presence on Facebook and  Twitter.

Tech&Learning is an excellent resource for all educators. It's free and contains a tremendous amount of information, links, resources, and tips and ideas.

I believe that it is a tremendous resource for educators and wanted to make sure more educators could take advantage of it.

Note: I am a TL Advisor and contribute twice monthly to the TL Advisor blogs. I have also have articles of mine published in the print magazine and present at TechForum.

I've written about Tech&Learning before, but never on it's own. I believe that it is a tremendous resource for educators and wanted to make sure more educators could take advantage of it.

eWeek - free technology journal - great resource

Posted in Labels: , ,

eWeek is a great technology journal for technology professionals. They cover enterprise level technology, use of technology in corporate and personal arenas, and even cover some educational issues.

There are times when eWeek has covered a technology and it's use in education before many educational technology journals.

If you are involved in technology in anyway, you can sign up for a free subscription. Their website is also full of great resources and information.

Campus Technology - great free resource for higher ed (and K-12)

Posted in Labels: , ,

Campus Technology is a great, free resource for higher education professionals and also has a lot of resources and materials that are applicable to K-12 education.

The site, and print magazine, are free for educators who work in or with higher education. There are news reports, product reviews, case studies, links, resources, and more.

Campus Technology also runs live and virtual conferences.

This month's issue of the magazine has two great articles that I think apply to all levels of education:

page 26 has an article about putting the focus on performance and ways to measure student performance.

page 34 talks about e-textbooks and why, even with an explosion of e-readers and tablets, e-textbooks have not taken off.

You can access the magazine free online at the home page or subscribe for the print edition.

Creative Educator - free education magazine

The Creative Educator is a free educational magazine from Tech4Learning. The magazine covers different issues in education with a focus on project based learning and interactive projects for students.

The site has the issues online, including searchable archives of past issues.

I've already found some great ideas in the first couple of issues I've read. Just go to the site and sign up.
